about

(Re)naissance is Alexandre Thivant's second work to date. Composed over a period of one year, it focuses on an intimate story. The tracks follow the composers inner turmoil like a logbook as the poignant, faithful testimony of a tumultuous period of life made up of bifurcations and choices. In short, it is the precision of a path that is given here.
Following the principle of geographical coordinates, each title then becomes a beacon of the composers layout: a real map of positions.
The creative act aims to be purifying: Alexandre Thivant's music deploys a vibrant sound odyssey in which disorder, chaos and rage intertwine with more luminous escapes which open up the lands of grace, the sacred and forgiveness.
The whole journey is indeed about rebirth (english translation for ‘(Re)naissance’). The tracks bear the idea of ruptures and renunciations which precede each rebirth.
The sound monoliths give Alexandre Thivant's music a weight, a physicality and an urgency that is sometimes adorned with the use of field recordings. These breakthroughs into reality appear here like secrets in the mist. This path of solitude was needed. Groping forward in the fog, in the midst of steel flashes to find the light that will irradiate everything and that we can grasp in the very last minutes of the record.
